| Yasmin Sayyed - Biography |
|
|
I am a visual artist, poet, mother of two adult sons, and grandmother of an adolescent granddaughter. I was born in NYC of Cape Verdean and Caribbean ancestry. Much of my professional life has been spent as an educator, researcher and expressive arts therapist. Recently, I resigned in order to focus on a lifelong passion of making art in the service of spirituality, peace, and truth telling. I live and work in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Lake Tahoe, California, where I delight in taking pen to hand, and paint to brush to illumine and record the wondrous, hopeful and sometimes haunting realities of being human. I studied art, education, and psychology in New York, Rhode Island and California, and have earned advanced degrees-- none of which are as valuable as the degrees of honour, trustworthiness and interpersonal decency that I hold so dear. Original works, Gicleés and cards are available for sale.
